Medicinal Plants: Hypolipidemic, Hypocholesterolemic and Anti-atherosclerotic Properties

A B Ray (Author) S Hemalatha (Author) J P N Chansouria (Author)
Synopsis The book provides information on the hypolidemic, hypocholestrolemic and antiatherosclerotic activities of various plants in the form of a glossary primarily to meet the needs of investigators working in this area of research. The book is also considered useful for Ayurvedic scholars to familiarize them with the findings of modern research on plants used for the treatment of cardiovascular and other related disorders. Brief abstracts of research articles reporting the above mentioned activities of the plant extracts and their active principles together with complete references are presented in the book. The plants have been arranged alphabetically while different works on a particular plant are mentioned in chronological order. The book, which appears to be the first systematic compilation of literature on plants showing hypolipidemic, hypocholestrolemic and antiatherosclerotic activities, is expected to be a valuable tool for the researchers in this area of investigation.
