Aniruddha Ray is Professor in Department of Islamic History and Culture, University of Calcutta. His published works include Some Aspects of Mughal Administration (1984); ed. with S.K. Arasaratnam, Masulipatnam and Cambay (1994); ed. with others, Murshidabad Affairs 1821-50 (1995); Economic History of Mughal India (Bengali), 1996; and Economic History of Sultanate Period (Bengali), 1997; Prof. Ray is at present the Secretary of the Indian History Congress.
