Synopsis The publication of this Encyclopaedia is a milestone in the progress of research in education. Quite as significant as the Encyclopaedia itself is the cooperative effort that produced it. Prepared under the auspices of the American Educational Research Association, it is a tribute to the vision and zeal of its learned editor, Professor Walter S. Monroe.
