About the authors

R.K. Trivedy

Dr. R.K. Trivedy (b. 21-06-1957) is Reader and Head, Department of Pollution Studies, Y.C. College, of Science, Karad, Shivaji University, Kolhapur. He did his M.Sc. in Botany from Banaras Hindu University in1976 and Ph.D. from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur in 1980. He has taught the subject Environmental Pollution in B.Sc. (Pollution Studies) and M.Sc. (Pollution Studies) Course and has guided research at M.Sc. (partly by research), M.Phil and Ph.D. level. Dr. Trivedy has 28 years of research experience in the field of fresh water ecology, aquatic weed ecology and management, biomonitoring of water pollution and wastewater treatment. He has done pioneering work in India in utilization of water hyacinth for sewage and industrial waste treatment and he is a member of International specialists group in this field. Dr. Trivedy has been Principal investigator of several research projects sponsored by Ministry of Environment and Forests, University Grants Commission, India and National River Action Plan. He has organized many National and International Conferences and Training Programmes. He has published over 100 research papers in reputed National and International Journals and books. He has authored / edited 30 books and is the editor of first Environmental Directory of India. He has been editing the prestigious international journal – Pollution Research since 1982 and is also editing Journal of Industrial Pollution control, and other quarterly journals Ecology, Environment and conservation and Asian Journal of Microbiology, Biotechnology and Environmental Sciences. Dr. Trivedy has lectured in various Universities in India and Abroad. He is member of several prestigious committees in various states. He is a winner of several Awards. Pramod Mohnot

Er. Pramod Mohnat is Presently working as Assistant Professor, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagarh (Gujarat). He id his Masters in Farm Machinery and Power Engineering n 1989 from College of Technology and Agricultural Engineering, Udaipur (Raj.). He handled several research projects sponsored by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. He released about tennos of agricultural Engineering, Udaipur (Raj.). He handled several research projects sponsored by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. He released about tennos of agricultural equipment through research council of Gujarat Agricultural University.

Y.C. Bhatt

Dr. Y.C. Bhatt is currently working as Head, in the Department of Fram Machinery and Power Engineering at College of Technology and Engineering, Udaipur. He did his M.Tech. and Ph.D. from IIT, Kharagpur (W.B.). He has 25years of experience in teaching, research and extension. He is also working as Prinicipal Investigator in AICRP on FIM, Udaipur center. He has to his credit 3 books, 20 research papers and many popular articles.

S.M. Mathur

Dr. S.M. Mathur has a varied experience of 20 years in teaching, research and extension. He did his Ph.D. in 2000, from Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur (Rajasthan). Dr. Mathur is working on Management of Aquatic weeds since 1997. He has published several papers in reputed International and National Journals. He has also edited 3 books and developed many folders on utilization of water hyacinth. Dr. Mathur has been Principal Investigator of no. of projects and guided several Masters and Ph.D. students. Presently, he is working as Associate professor in the Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering at College of Technology and Engineering, Udaipur (Rajasthan). He has been awarded FAO fellowship and visited USA and Thailand.
