About the author

B.C. Nayak

Prof. B.C. Nayak had his M.Sc. (Ag) and Ph.D. degrees in Agronomy from the Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar (Orissa). He then served the Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology in various capacities for 37 years. During the last seven years of his career, he was Chief Agronomist, Cropping system Research (1997-1999), Professor of Agronomy (1999-2000) and Dean, College of Agriculture (2002-2004) of Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar. Prof. Nayak has specialized in cropping system research and published more than 50 research papers and 30 extension papers in national level journals and is the author of 6 books/book chapters. His major area of research included cropping system research and cultural management of crops especially rice. Prof. Nayak has experience of research and academic administration and is the resource person for several organizations.
