Modern Practices of Library Information Services

Kusum Verma (Author)
Synopsis Libraries are being swept along with the currents of rapidly changing technology. While continuing to provide many traditional information services, librarians are developing new skill sets and growing into the new roles that are necessary to support technology-based services. Technology has impacted nearly every facet of library work. The mission of the libraries-providing excellent information service- has not changed, but technology has added several new dimensions to this task. Fulfilling this enhanced mission can be difficult. Most libraries are not positioned for rapid change. The present book contains valuable information on latest developments in the field and new techniques and practices being used in modern libraries. It is intended primarily to meet the requirements of students of library and information science. It will also serve librarians, academics, users of library and others interested in finding out information about library science.
