About the authors

Ehsanul Haq

Ehsanul Haq is a Professor at the Centre for the Study of Social Systems, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He did his M.A. with distinction form Aligarh, and M.Phil./ Ph. D. from JNU, New Delhi He has been teaching at the post-graduate level at the Centre for more than 25 years and has produced a large number of Mphil/ Ph. D. Students. His areas of specialization consist of Education and Society and Methods of Social Science Research. He has developed a course in the area of Population and Society for the post-graduate students of the Centre, taught this course and guided Mphil/Ph. D. students in this area for more than 10years. He has published several books and numerous articles in his areas of teaching and research. In addition to his academic status, as Professor of sociology and education, he has also worked in different academic and administrative positions and has managed the academic activities of the Centre for the Study of Social Systems as its Chairperson. He has a long academic and administrative experience since he joined the faculty at the Centre in J.N.U.

Sudhir Kumar Singh

Sudhir Kumar Singh is MA, M Phil, PhD from Delhi University and had worked as Research Officer in Sri Ram Institute of Industrial Research, New Delhi. He had participated and presented many papers in the seminars and attended workshop organized by NCERT. He is presently reader in R.B.S.College, Agra of Dr. B.R. University, Agra.
