Synopsis Recent Advances in Plant Disease synthesizes modern information to provide a stimulating and important new view of interaction between plants and pathogens causing diseases. The objective is to introduce to students the essential principles for understanding various aspects of pathogens and their related plant diseases. Moreover, the book is addressed primarily to advanced students and research scholars who have had training in one or other of the plant diseases. It also contains much which will arouse the interest of the innovating farmer. 'Several disease problems still remain unrecognized and have not been able to attract attentions because of the uneconomic plants being attacked by them presently. However considerable work is being undertaken by scientists within the country on various aspects of such uneconomic plants. An attempt has been made therefore, to bring together as much information as possible including effects on the plant in pathogenicity trials. Wherever possible, some details on morphology and biology have been given for a better understanding of pathogen and diseases caused by them. Efforts have also been made to condense the matter as far as practicable. The set features both a text and a laboratory guide.
