Synopsis The recent advances in Knowledge, Innovation and Technology in the World and in India beckons to a better world a developed India by 2020 is not a dream but a mission we can accomplish and make good governance in India and beyond reality. Good governance is the use of I.T. to deliver public services in a more convenient citizen centric and cost effective manner. Good governance relates to the quality of relationship between the government and the citizen whom it serves and protects. Good governance consists of four important pillars-Accountability Transparency predictability and Participation. Citizens want excellence in governance of services delivered on time and at minimum costs. In the fast changing scenario, good governance has become not only necessary but also essential in a set up where people are the biggest stakeholder. In this direction, a number of initiatives have already been made for government officials, legislators, and various other key players to come together to learn and explore and achieve the objectives of growth and development. Thus good governance strongly supports digitization of government administration by using network technology to meet needs of the people. As the Internet spreads throughout society, and in public as well as private sectors, Good governance deals with globalisation and ICT and Development Information Technology and Democratic Governance, Citizen Centric, Combating Corruption Leadership, Role of the Women, Knowledge, Innovation and Technology, Sustainable Human Resource Development and cooperation between public and private sector etc.
