Synopsis This multifaced book is not only a guide to the practical field but also a text book of theoretical purpose. The literature in the practical field in a huge gathering way is few but the literature in the theoretical field of Biochemistry are of course more. For this I want to contribute a few more words in the various chapters of the book viz., carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, vitamins, pigments, some other important biochemical experiments, cytological preparations and cell fractionation, chromatography, qualitative and quantitative analysis of normal and abnormal urine, enzymes, nucleic acids and measurement and preparation of some extra-important reagents theoretically and practically by consulting various books, journals, research papers etc. nationally and internationally and as well as the experience that I have gathered in twenty seven long years as a teacher. For this purpose, I have examined the syllabi of various Indian and Foreign Universities and colleges to write this book that would eliminate certain burning problems of the student community. It is my sincere hope that the students in India and abroad will derive great benefit from it. This is, undoubtedly a core text for the students of Graduate courses (Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry), M.Sc. (Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry and Life-Science), M.Phil., Ph.D., D. Sc., Veterinary, Medical, Agriculture and Research. Moreover, this book will be needful for the students appearing in the competitive examinations like IAS, IFS, Public Service Commission (nationally and internationally) etc. Therefore, an attempt has also been made to include the basic knowledge of the subject Fundamentals of Biochemistry in an easy style so that it can be well understood by them.
