Non-Violence and Satyagraha

S Mukherjee (Author) S Ramaswamy (Author)
Synopsis Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869-1948), popularly known as Mahatma Gandhi, was one of the most outstanding men that the twentieth century has produced. He grew to the fullest stature of human personality and has left behind a name to be cherished devoutly in the memories of human generations for centuries to come. Gandhi made the technique of non-violence the powerful weapon in his fight against British imperialism. For him the only dogma was his belief in non-violence as a creed and here he was not willing to make compromises. Both the doctrines of non-violence and satyagraha are linked to Gandhi's innate attachment to truth which is described as 'truth force'. His greatest experiments related to the method of satyagraha which he applied to different situations and against different types of opponents. This book studies Mahatma Gandhi's thoughts and doctrines of non-violence and satyagraha. This outstanding book would be a valuable addition for all libraries and a treasure for all scholars, students and general readers interested in the study of Mahatma Gandhi.
