Synopsis China invaded Tibet in 1959, forced hundred thousand Tibetans to leave their country. In order to maintain their cultural identity they seek asylum in India. Since the socio-cultural environment was completely different what is found in Tibet, they faced lots of problems during their early days. As the time passed they settled themselves at various parts of country with the help of Indian government. Initially number of studies have been done on the subject of Tibetans related to the stress and strains they faced in setting themselves. This book provides an in-depth explainations how Tibetans after coming to India have been influenced by the new social, economic and political environment.
