An Old Soldier Speaks Out
Synopsis
The book is a very typical expression of an old soldier’s view of life. The first part covers reminiscences of the British army and thereafter police action in Hyderabad, where he served as intelligence aide of K.M. Munshi in 1948. The last days of the Nizam’s rule and the intelligence operations undertaken by the author to keep subversive elements at bay are vividly portrayed. Experiences of the author with the International Control Commission in 1962 are mirrored in his letters to his family. Of special interest are his reports of Communist dominated society in North Vietnam. The author has analysed the latest implications for foreign and military strategy to be adopted vis-?-vis the Chinese border problem.
