It also generates awareness about the importance of precision farming and its relevance to natural resource conservation and the innumerable possibilities of increasing the level of precision in various farming activities. About the authors

K.P. Gore

Dr. K.P. Gore did his B.Sc. (Agri) in 1970 and B.Tech. (Agril. Engg.) in 1973 from Agricultural University, Akola. He obtained M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur with research specialization in Soil and Water Conservation Engineering (Watershed Management). Dr. Gore began his career as Assistant Professor at MAU, Parbhani and continued to serve in the same capacity till 1988. He became the Head, Department of Soil and Water Conservation Engineering (1988 to 1998) and Associate Dean and Principal, College of Agricultural Engineering (1998 to 2001). He has now been appointed the Professor and Head, Department of Agricultural Engineering, College of Agriculture, Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani. Several research papers of his have been published in interntionally reputed journals and he has also presented papers in the conferences and authored a book "Technology Transfer on Watershed Management". He tutored courses on soil and water conservation engineering at Post Graduate level and guided B.Tech. and M.Tech. students. He acted as Principal Investigator of two Adhoc Projects funded by ICAR and Co-ordinator of 5 Mini Research Schemes, financed by the State Government. He visited UK, Paris, Ireland, Dublin (1989), Chicage, New York and Washington (U.S.A.) and presented research papers. He developed several watersheds for the benefit of the farmers of marathwada region. He is a Member of many Expert Committees and a Life Member of ISAE who established Regional ISAE Chapter at Parbhani in 1998 and acted as Chairman of ISAE Parbhani Chapter since 1988. Dr. Gore is renowned for his significant research in watershed Management. He is recipient of many awards and honours. to name few, he is the recipient of Vasantrao Naik Gold Medal, Krishi Ratan, S.J. Hiran Memorial Award and Commendation Medal of Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers for his outstanding constribution in the field Agricultural Engineering.

H.S. Acharya

Dr. H.S. Acharya, M.Sc. in Mathematics from University of Pune (1970) and Ph.D. in Mathematics from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (1975). He is currently working as Associate Professor and Head, Department of Basic Science and Computer Technology at College of Agricultural Engineering, Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani. He has contributed to various publication and his prominent papers published are in the area of Hydrodynamics, Soil Science, and Agricultural Drainage. He has also provided statistical consultancy to Agricultural Scientists, Animal Scientists, Agricultural Engineers for more than twenty years. He was also the Principal Investigator in two projects on Agricultural Drainage funded by ICAR, New Delhi and co-investigator in amny research projects.

N.M. Tamboli

Prof. N.M. Tamboli, M.Sc. in Computer Science from Dr. B.A. Marathwada University (1995). He is currently the Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Department of Agricultural Engineering, College of Agriculture, Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani. He is the author of two books on Computer Science. His Popular articles and Research publications include papers in the area of Computers, Library and Information Science. He has provided Consultancy to University libraries for automation. He has developed Web enabled CDs consisting of proceedings of different training programs held at MAU.
