Synopsis A library catalogue is a register of all bibliographic items found in a library. A bibliographic item is a library material, a part of a library material, or a group of library materials, as far as it is relevant to the catalogue. Producing formal catalogues is relatively easy, as the cataloguer can follow a set of cataloguing rules. The application of computers to cataloguing and the adoption of shared cataloguing through bibliographic networks greatly transformed the cataloguing process. The present volume attempts to include all important topics of library cataloguing which are very much important and necessary in day to day functioning of library. It is anticipated that this book will be useful to students, researchers and library professional and also will find a place on the open shelves in reference libraries.
