C. Mani (b. 28 May 1923) Indologist, Art critic and Tibetologist, has taught history at the University of Allahabad and Asian History and Archaeology at the Tibetan Institute Sarnath for more than two decades. He has been a foander member of the Institute. His Contributions to journals and participation in National and International colloquay have been innovative. He is a prolific writer of renown. Based in classical studies and with editorial specifications in addition to his creative writings he has edited Hindi Envyvlopaedia (12 Volumes) Sanskrit (3 volumes) Madhyamika Dialectic sand the Philosophy of Nagarjuna and Arya Asanga and Vijnanavada. The Basic Rhythms of Buddhist Philosophy, A Biographical Memoir of Acarya Padmasambhava, A Comparative Study of the Iconography of Brahmanical Deities in Buddhist Pantheon, etc. Further, he has edited a new edition of the well-known book, A Manual of Indian Buddhism by H. Kern (New Delhi, 1992).
