Maulana Syed Mohammad Mian

Maulana Syed Mohammad Mian (1903-1975) was an Islamic scholar of international repute and a stalwart of India’s freedom struggle. He wrote a detailed history of Ulamas of India namely Glorious Past of Indian Ulemas. He was a versatile genius. While he was a politician, historian and essayist on one hand, he was a distinguished teacher and a prominent Islamic jurist on the other. In 1944, he joined the office of the Jamiat Ulama-I-Hind and rendered valuable administrative services for it.
