Synopsis This is a comprehensive volume describing historical background of the movement of the scheduled caste in South India for freedom and social justice, covering peasant movements, peasant struggles, agrarian revolts, non-cooperation movement, unrest in Andhra Pradesh, peasant-resistance and revolution in South India and Indian Peasant Struggles and achievements. The present publication is the outcome of the doctoral research work undertaken by the author. He has collected empirical data in the villages of West Godavari district interviewing the respondents, personally witnessing the difficult situations and the hardships to which the Palerus were subjected to.
