Synopsis
The book is about the study of marketing of Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDP) by the Institutions like Small Industries Service Institute (SISI), North East Industrial and Technical Consultancy Organisation (NEITCO), Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) and the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC). The study focuses on the impact generated by these EDP’s on the women entrepreneurs of Assam. For this purpose, the contents of the book are divided into six chapters. The first chapter deals with the framework of the study, methodology review of literature and its objectives. Here the socio-economic status of women is explored and their contribution towards economic development is accounted for. The dual role conflict of women in is analysed in the context of pursuing career in entrepreneurship. The third chapter discusses the profile of promoting organization and their service orientation. Marketing of EDP programmes forms the core of the book. The entrepreneurial feedback from the participants of the EDP programs is another addition which deals with empirical exercises. Study of the levels of satisfaction among the women participants of these courses is one of the focus areas of this chapter. The cost –benefit analysis of the courses is dealt with in a chapter. Usually, it is a reality that without government patronage, there can be little development. Therefore, government sponsorship, the policy on women entrepreneurship, the role of government in EDP movement etc., also forms subject matter of the book.
