The Problem of Justice in Political Theory and State Practice

Nilanjana Jain (Author)
Synopsis The book deals with the problem of justice in the whole spectrum of Political Theory from Plato to Rawls and Gandhi. There are separate chapters on Rawls and Gandhi. There are also separate chapters on some contemporary contentious issues in the administration of justice and these include: Social Justice and Reservation Policy. Empowerment of Women, Judicial Activism. The continuing importance of the book is ensured by its academic merit, scarcity of material available in this area of political theory, growing demand from students specially those appearing in the competitive examinations and the fact that these topics have gained prominence in public discussion and examination syllabi of the universities and Public Service Commissions in recent years only.
