Historical Monuments of India

Ramesh Chandra (Editor)
Synopsis The Historical Monuments of India speak of the architectural taste of numerous rulers since centuries. The experts were brought by them from far and wide and they were immensely compensated and rewarded on the completion of the monumental work. Indeed years and years were spent on the completion of these buildings. If we travel from North to South and again from West to East including Central India, we come across numerous historical buildings and forts which richly reflect our ancient, medieval and modern culture. Some of them has deep linkage with our traditions, language, culture and religion. In fact the massive structure of forts, now not in good shape on account of their costly maintenance were protective buildings during the war. The rule and ruled used to take shelter here and the enemy felt much difficulty in defeating the ruler of the region. At present these historical buildings and places like Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Taj Mahal, Nalanda, Bodh Gaya, Qutab Minar, Fatehpur Sikri, Ajanta and Ellora and several others afford much attraction to the Indian and foreign tourists. In fact we wish to see them again and again and thus learn historical facts from them. Very often we visit Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Goa, Magadha, Southern, Eastern and Western regions.
