Sources of Bhutanese History

C.T. Dorji (Author)
Synopsis Sources of Bhutanese History is a collection of references in Chhokey, Dzongkha and English on the history of Bhutan. Bhutanese history needs to be revised and re-written giving new interpretation to the old facts or bringing new facts to the knowledge of the readers through a persistent research. The author made a genuine attempt to identify various sources not only available within the country but also outside the country for further research. Equivalent renderings of Chhokey and Dzongkha have been given wherever possible for the convenience of the reader. It has been published for the special benefit of Bhutanese students as well as general reader keenly interested in the sources of Bhutanese history. It is hoped that these sources will be of some help for the reconstruction of Bhutanese history and also bring a greater awareness of the richness and intellectual depth of Bhutanese civilization at the turning point of the 21st century.
