How far these laws have succeeded in ameliorating women’s condition, is for the reader to assess.

Rama Mehta

Miss. Rama Mehta, a science graduate from H.P. University, passed LL.B. from the same university, in 1979, obtaining first division. After completing her LL.M. degree with a Junior Research Fellowship, she is currently engaged in research in Faculty of Law, U.P. University, Shimla. In addition to law, she is deeply interested in extra-curricular activities and intellectual pursuits. With a rural background, she feels closer to the weaker sections of the society. Her own experience of the rural life has made it easier for her to understand the problems of women in the present society.
