Synopsis This volume focuses on the postclassical period of the Hindu tradition and explores its spiritual dimensions. The topics included here are grouped under the following six headings; The Regional Spiritualities; The Spirituality of the Puranas, Agamas, and Tantra; The Spirituality of Modern Hinduism; Contemporary Hindu Spirituality; Cultural Expressions of Hindu Spirituality; and Hindu Spirituality in Dialogue. Like the first volume, the second volume also draws on the expertise of scholars of the Hindu tradition in India and abroad to explore and highlight the spirituality of the Hindu tradition. The variety of ways in which the writers have sought to communicate in the volume is itself illustrative of the basic tenet of Hindu spirituality, which accommodates plurality and diversity and accepts them as valid ways of describing Reality.
