The Communist Party in Punjab

J.S. Brar (Author)
Synopsis The role of the Communist Party of India (CPI) in Punjab is gradually becoming known for its true worth. With its origins going back to the patriotic Gadhar movement of the freedom struggle, the Punjab CPI is apparently waging its second great struggle against disruptive and divisive forces. The Communist Party in Punjab (The Politics of Survival) traces the evolution of the Punjab CPI from its inception to the present day. This exhaustive investigation delves into every conceivable facet of the development of the Party, including through analysis of its strategy and tactics, composition of its membership and leadership, caste and religious influences, its changing motivations and its electoral history – A fascinating and yet scholarly work suited to the professional political scientist and ordinary reader alike.
