The Story of Tea

E. Jaiwant Paul (Author)
Synopsis Today tea is consumed by about one-half of the world’s population. Legend has it that tea originated in China about 5,000 years ago. The earliest reference to tea which scholars give credence to was found in 350 BC in the Era Ya, an ancient Chinese dictionary. The story of tea traces the history, myths and rituals of growing and drinking tea from the tea gardens of China to the roadside dhabas of India-it’s all here for the reader to discover. This book deals not only with the planting and manufacture of tea, but its tasting and blending, its sale by auction and marketing in branded packaged form, with a special reference to Brooke Bond India, and more… The Story of Tea makes for interesting reading.
