Synopsis Kishore G. Kulkarni as a child grew up in Pune, India. He secured the first rank in B.A. (Economics) Examination (1974) and Second Rank in M.A. Economics) Examination (1976) of the University of Poona (Pune). Prof. Kulkarni was taught by Prof. Vilas V. Ekbote, who has influenced a great deal his learning and teaching, from 1972 to 1976. After receiving teaching assistantship at the University of Pittsburgh, he completed M.A. (Economics, 1978) and Ph.D. (Economics, 1982) degrees, and has been teaching Principles and Intermediate Macro-Micro, International Economics and Monetary Economics courses since 1980. Over lasts three decades Prof. Kulkarni has worked with University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown, University of Central Arkansas, University of Louisiana-Monroe, University of Calorado-Boulder, Colorado School of Mines, Graduate school of International Studies at the University of Denver and Metropolitan State College of Denver. In all these institutions, students rated him as the one of the best professors and have praised his teaching style in many different ways. He received the “Outstanding Teaching Award” by Golden Key International Honor Society in 2001. He has taught in Semester at Sea Program of University in 1994 and has made several visits to India on research and teaching missions. His unsaturated love and enthusiasm for teaching make his classes exciting, entertaining and rewarding experience. Prof. Kulkarni’s prolific research record has produced over 70 journal articles and 4 books. His two books, Principles of Macro-Monetary Theory (4th Edition, 2003) Kendall / Hunt Publishing Company and Modern Monetary Theory (First Edition, 1999), Macmillan India Limited, have been used as textbooks in several US and Indian Universities. He has co-authored (with Prof. Santosh Choudhury) a research book on, “Role of LIC in Economics Development in India”, (1992, Himalaya Publishing Company, Mumbai). His simple writing methods have earned him “Outstanding Researcher / Scholar Award” of Golden Key International Honor society in 1997 and “Outstanding contributions to Professional Development Area Award” of the School of Business of Metropolitan State College of Denver from 1996-2003). Prof. Kulkarni is the founding Co-Editor (with Bansi Sawhney) of Indian Journal of Economics and Business (www.ijeb.com) that is managed by Serials Publications and is a blindly refereed, international journal in economics and business fields.

His unsaturated love, unlimited energy and enthusiasm for teaching make his classes exciting, entertaining and rewarding experience. Prof. Kulkarni's prolific research record has produced over 75 journal articles and 7 books. His first book, "Principles of Macro Monetary Theory" (4th Edition) Kendall/Hunt Publishing Company, (2003) has been used as a textbook in USA since 1986. He has co-authored (with E. Dolan and D.Lindsey) two famous textbooks of Principles classes, "Understanding Microeconomics" and "Understanding Macroeconomics", both with Horizon Textbook Publishing Reading CA (2005), That are used at numerous US universities. His "Modern Monetary Theory", Macmillan Indian Limited, New Delhi (First Edition, 1999, Second Edition 2006) is a popular adoption in Indian Universities. A similar book of his selected writings is to be published by ICFAI Books Series, ICFAI Business Schools, Hyderabad in 2006. He has also co-authored (with Prof. Santosh Choudhury) a small research book on' "Role of LIC in Economic Development in India", (1992, Himalaya Publishing Company, Mumbai). His simple and understandable writing methods have earned him "Outstanding Researcher/Scholar Award" of Golden Key International Honor Society in 1997 and "Outstanding Contributions to Professional Development Area Award" of the School of business of Metropolitan State College of Denver from 1996 to 2004. Prof. Kulkarni is the founding Editor (with Bansi Sawhney) of Indian Journal of Economics and Business that is managed by Serials Publications and is a double blind refereed, international Journals in economics and business.
