Assessment of Cognitive Development of Elementary School Children
Synopsis
A standardized test is based on the assumption that each subject be presented with the same problem so that the resultant differences in the performance can be attributed to the differences in the subject’s level of development. For this purpose Piagetian experiments have been converted into test items meeting strict psychometric criteria by retaining the essence of the original problems. In this direction, some efforts to assess cognitive development of the elementary school children have been illustrated in this book.
