Oedogoniales (Chlorophyceae) of Bihar, India - II
It is a well-known fact that flora and fauna of any fresh water habitat cannot remain the same forever, they vary in accordance with time and space. Keeping this in mind a serious attempt was made to work out on flora of that part of the region which was somehow overlooked by the preceding explorers. The present monograph accommodates the result in its ambit and therefore it is considered as an extended part of the past volume (Kargupta and Swati Kumari 2022) and it titled as Oedogoniales (Chlorophyceae) of Bihar, India – part II. The present treaties embraces descriptions of a total of 57 species comprising discovery of 10 taxa as new to science, 10 taxa as new record to India and 21 taxa as additions to Algae of Bihar. The present volume also includes a chapter especially on taxonomic distinction of the group and its evolutionary status. Supporting evidences on taxonomic integrity of taxa described include altogether 44 plates containing 160 microphotographs and 98 camera-lucida drawings.
