The north coastal Andhra Pradesh is known for brass and bell metal craft since ancient times. The artisans from this region make different types of craft products related to kitchen vessels and temple. Increasing metal cost and changing socio-cultural patterns, changing political dynamics, changing economic policy, presence of big companies in the craft field, is forcing the artisans to leave their traditional occupation. Those who are still depending on this activity are facing difficulties for their livelihood. With this background the study was conducted in three districts viz., Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam of north costal Andhra Pradesh. The study discusses status of Brass and Bell metal craft artisans, how artisans are procuring raw materials for making product, making process of different crafts and economics of making process and what are existing marketing channels of products. In addition, the book discusses challenges faced by the artisan and draws a model to support artisans' livelihood.
