About the authors

N Vinothini

N Vinothini is a Ph.D Scholar in Department of Seed Science and Technology, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. Her research interests are related to the improvement of yield to ensure food security in the present challenging condition of climate change mainly focusing on seed characters. Her previous research includes the yield improvement of groundnut by improvement of source sink relationships. She is now studying the paddy in response to the elevated CO2 condition and the increase of temperature along with. She holds two national awards for the outstanding contribution for undertaking student’s welfare activities including AIASA Gold Medal 2017 and Best Popular Article Award 2017. She has been receiving the award of Research Assistantship for her PhD.

R K Bhavyasree

R K Bhavyasree is a PhD Scholar in Centre for Plant Breeding and Genetics, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. Her research area mainly includes the utilization of wild genetic resources for crop improvement. She worked for the yield improvement of chickpea using the wild relatives and currently working for the introgression of valuable traits from wild to cultivated rice. She was awarded National Talent Scholarship (ICAR) during her graduation, ICAR- JRF in post-graduation and Sardar Iqbal Singh Dhillon Gold Medal for securing highest marks in MSc. Plant Breeding and Genetics. She has been receiving DST-INSPIRE fellowship for PhD.
