This book presents an original account of the bryoflora of the Southernmost Eastern Ghats and deals with 148 species belonging to 77 genera, 39 families and 12 order. Of these, 101 species, 52 genera, 25 families and 9 orders belong to mosses, and 47 species, 25 genera, 14 families and 3 orders belong to liverworts. It includes 1 moss new to India, 1 moss new to Peninsular India, 3 genera of mosses and 2 genera of liverworts, 8 mosses, 5 liverworts and 1 variety of moss new to the Eastern ghats.  The nomenclature has been updated following the current International code of Botanical Nomenclature. There are 56 figure plates and 16 colour plates, synonyms pertaining to India and neighboring regions are provided, which include almost all Indian literature. Species are described in detail, mostly based on fresh material. Information in habitat, distribution, etc., is provided. Botany scholars and faculty, researchers in academic and research institutions, forest departments and those interested in bryophyte research would find the book useful.
