Myasabedas living in and around Challakere, Jagaloor and Molakalmooru taluks identify themselves with three words the Myasas, the Beadas and the Mayakar. These three words represent the clan as a whole. As a malapropism, the Myasas aver that they are the direct descendants of Vyasa. Also they call themselves as descendants of Valmiki.
