Synopsis Poverty is concerned with social needs as well as physical needs. People are social beings, with social roles and relationships. Our needs arise through these roles and relationships, as well as through our need for physical survival. Poverty is the result of unequal distribution of money and is the inequality between the rich and poor naturally led to violence and conflicts. Realistic peace education must start from the recognition of these facts. The book examines the current evidences on the relationship between poverty and conflicts. It will place this evidence within a framework that will help those who work with families to develop their understanding of how poverty undermines conflicts. It will help the welfare workers and activists to fight against the causes of poverty and its worst effects.
