Synopsis This is the 50 Seminar Volume entitled "Thoughts on Education", being brought out by Academia, an Association of Retired Teachers and Educationists staying in Jaipur’s Mansarovar Colony, one of the biggest residential areas in the Asian Continent. These hail from the University of Rajasthan, Affiliated Colleges, Schools and other institutions of an academic character. Now that the Indian Republic has celebrated its Golden Jubilee, it is time to see how our system of education and research has taken shape at various levels in the context of our cultural heritage, state-of-the-art technology, global influences and social expectations. This volume, being released in 2000 at the outset of a new millennium, is an effort to present to the nation a cross-section of views emanating from leading academics in their own areas of excellence.
