Synopsis The feminism that we know today has its roots in Western society. Gaining a foothold after the First World War, it developed momentum during the days of the Great Depression and progressed still further after the Second World War. The women’s liberation movement took shape in the United States of America and every shade of feminist activity was reflected in it. The concept is still prevalent strongly in the U.S.A. and Britain.
