Synopsis Students of Biology do not possess an adequate background of Physics and Chemistry, as a result they face much difficulty in understanding the true concepts of Physiology. The present textbook has been written mainly for such students, but it is sure to serve as a real guide to those as well who intend to specialize in Physiology. The contents of the book and arrangement of chapters are being made by consulting several standard works on the subject and research papers. All the needed concepts of physiology is explained in a very simplified manner, putting in the related Biochemistry, wherever it was necessary. Many informatory diagrams have been incorporated to help the students. Necessary anatomical details have been given in order to emphasize upon the students the importance of knowing ‘the form and function together’, instead of knowing them isolated from each other. In the present text more stress has been given on the Mammalian Physiology, but other animal groups have also been included. The diagrams are simple, clear and well labeled and the language is simple throughout.
