R.D. Dikshit, Ph.D. (ANU, Canberra) is Professor of Geography at the Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak.  Formerly Professor and founder head of the Department of geography at the Punjabi University, Patiala, Professor Dikshit has lectured on the history and philosophy of geography for the past 25 years.  Besides numerous papers in leading professional journals, his publications include: The Political Geography of Federalism, Political Geography: The Discipline and Its Dimensions, and The Geography of Elections.
