The role of manufacturing sector in poverty alleviation among its various other vital contributions has been envisaged to be very critical. This book is an endeavour to assess the emerging trends in the unorganised manufacturing sector in India in terms of its growth dynamics, trends and patterns of various measures of productivity, emerging tendencies of employment diversification and concentration, its linkage with the organised manufacturing sector and the impact of metropolitanisation and economic reforms on these dimensions.
