Elevation to the Divine State Through Holy Qurbana

Geo Pallikunnel (Author) CMI . (Author)
Synopsis

Human and cosmic destiny is integration into Christ and elevation to the divine state. Eucharistic is the raza (mystery) of this divine process. It is the celebration and sacrament of Christification, which integrates humanity and the cosmos into Christ and makes them participate in God's life, light and holiness, and elevates them to the divine state through the action of the Holy Spirit. This study is an attempt to understand the intricacies of this divine process in the Echaristic Liturgy of Syro Malalbar Church in the East Syriac traditio. This process of integration and elevation has a special relevance in the context of today's anthropocentic world, where human and cosmic dignity faces various challenges, such as the ecological crisis, terrorism, wars, forced poverty and migeation etc.

"This work is an original contribution in studies on the Eucharistic Liturgy of East Syriac tradition with a new theological and liturgical vision".
