Synopsis "There is a non-stop ongoing debate over the political emancipation and empowerment of women in India. The political parties are divided over the issue. Some of them are really willing to accord 33 per cent reservation to them, and some are fervently opposing the proposal. Indian women are advancing in every field of life and business. Their old orthodox stance and stereotype image is now no more in fashion. The women of 60s and 70s are replaced by the dynamic, energetic, and demanding women of 90s. This change is visible in every town of India. But villages are still steeped into the mires of tradition and illiteracy. However, many NGOs are active in the field of emancipation of women.
