Tilak Ranjan Bera

Dr. Tialk Ranjan Bera is a Doctor by Profession and has a passion for traveling, writing and photography.  Born in Kolkata, India, Dr. Bera, completed his MBBS from the Calcutta Medical College and his Post Graduation in Ophthalmology from the Mumbai University.  He has served as a Naval Officer in the Indian Armed Forces.

His tenures at Goa gave him the opportunity to study and understand the place and the people closely.  His earlier book on Goa, written in Bengali in 1998, is titled ‘Sonali Belar Desh Goa’ (Goa, the Land of Golden Beaches).

There are several books on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands written by him.  ‘Andaman and Nicobar – The Mysterious Bay Islands of India, Pre and Post Tsunami’ and ‘Andamans, The Emerald Necklace of India’ among them are quite popular.

The author is a keen observer and an excellent photographer.  Several extraordinary photographs and a detailed description on all aspects of Goa make this book a collector’s choice.
