Synopsis In this book Telecommunications an attempt has been made to highlight some aspects of the telecommunications sector in India in 50 years after achieving independence. A bird’s eye view regarding the growth of telecommunications in India has been presented. A review of the steps initiated by the Government of India in the 90s in the wake of general economic reforms has also been attempted. One chapter on the possibilities of India emerging as a superpower in information technology has been included. An outline of the research undertaken so far in the telecommunication sector has been given in one of the chapters.
