Mahua Chakrabarty

Mahua Chakrabarti is a lecturer in Museology, Calcutta University.  After obtaining an honours Degree in History and Post Graduate Degree in Museology (1995), she joined the Department of Museology, Calcutta University as the U.G.C. Research Fellow in 1998.  She was awarded Ph.D. Degree in Museology from the same university in 2002.  Her area of research was 'Minor Antiquities in the Museums of Eastern India: Problems of Communication of the Visitors'.  Mahua has penned a number of articles on different Museological aspects.  She also manages a Web page dealing with museology www.geocities.com\hubheritage.  She is also the co-author of the book 'Museum: Norms and Terms: A Selective Approach' (Sankha Basu & Mahua Chakrabarti, Dey's publishing, Kolkata, 1999).  Another book written by her is now in press, to be published by the National Book Trust, India.
