Synopsis

The book deals with the most beautiful hill state of India termed Jammu & Kashmir, originally called Kashmir. This state was one of the princely states in the nation and one of the most important factor in the international relations with the US, UK, Pakistan, Russia and China etc.

The book has been described in 13 different chapters dealing with its history, art & culture, temples & monuments, agriculture-horticulture & wild life, terrorism, neighboring fabulous hill states, international relations etc. Its ruler Maharaja Hari Singh took unduly long time to in deciding to merge into Indian union, giving opportunity to Pakistan to attack the state and attempt to make it a part of its own but the Indian forces did not let the Pak agenda to succeed.

Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, on the advice of Viceroy took the case to the UN before the entire state could be recovered and this resulted into problems which could not be solved till today. Therefore, the authors considered it necessary to write the book so that the world can understand the real problem and solve the situation amicably.
