Synopsis
This book traces the development of the Traditions of Ancient Eastern painting upto 800 A.D. Our aim is to study the classical introduction of the subject including a general studies on Indian pre-historic paintings intended for the under-graduate students of painting, who are interested in the development of Indian culture from the earliest beginnings to the damen of history. This book further deals with the Ajanta Cave paintings in detail, the technique of wall paintings is the chief characteristics of Ajanta Cave paintings. The dancer's scene of Bagh Cave paintings, Ellora, Elephanta and Sigiria, Cave paintings are also very much considered. The literary reference to paintings in Ancient India and in Vedic Age has also been taken into account. The main idea of this books is to study the common factors of Buddhist paintings (records) of India, China and Japan.
