An important feature of this book is the compilation of Nobel Prizes in medicine, Physiology, Physics, and Chemistry from 1901 to 2015 which have impacted the contemporary medical practice and conferred the greatest benefits to mankind: for instance the discovery of the Tuberculosis bacterium and malaria parasite, work on Poliomyelites, typhus and allergies, development of sulfa, penicillin and streptomycin, discovery of vitamins and treatment of their deficiencies, the synthesis of antihistaminic, beta blockers, cortisone and anti cancer drugs, the invention of electrocardiogram, X-ray, CT, MRI and radionuclide tracer studies, the deciphering of the structure of the DNA molecule, cell energy metabolism and intra cellular organelles, molecular biology + immunology all these have become inseparable parts of today's medical practice - all these have been awarded the Nobel Prize. I acknowledge with gratitude the help of Tonse N.K.Raju, MD and his unique book "The Nobel Chronicles 1901-2000" (published in 2002). I have updated the list to 2001-2015.
