Nadaswaram
The nadaswaram also called nagaswaram is one of the most papular classical wind instruments of south India and the worlds loudest non-brass acoustic instrument, The nadaswaram is considered to be very auspicious, a Mangala Vadhyam and it is the key instrument which is played in almost all Hindu marriages and temples of South India. The Instrument is usually played in pairs, and accompanied a pair of drums called Tavil.
This product brings to you marvelous concert by two of the leading Nadaswaram Vidwans of Tamilnadu, the Sembanar Kovil brothers namely S.R.G.Sambandam and S.R.G.Rajanna. They are the sons and disciples of the renowned Nadaswara Vidwan Sri.S.R.Givindaswamy Pillai. They also trained under their maternal uncle Pandanallur Sri.Guruswamy Pillai, It is worthy to note that the Sembanar Kovil family has been instrumental in preserving and propagating this ancient art for over 150 years. The hallmark of this concert is a superb, soul stirring rendition of Kanada. It also features a detailed and scholarly rendition of raga Saraswathi and Janaranjani, both followed by popular kritis of Thyagaraja.
