This book presents a thorough treatment of microprocessor hardware and software. The various concepts have been explained in a systematic and integrated manner so as to develop a clear and comprehensive understanding of microprocessor technology.
Beginning with the fundamentals of digital electronics, the book explains the development and evolution of various microprocessor generations. It then presents a detailed account of microprocessor architecture, followed by 8085 instructions, timing and control and programming. Memory devices are then thoroughly explained, followed by data transfer schemes. The book then discusses various contemporary support chips and their applications.

B.P. Singh is presently Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication Engg., Madan Mohan Malviya Engg. College, Gorakhpur. He did B.Sc. (Engg.) in 1967 from Bihar Institute of Technology, Sindri, Dhanbad and M.Sc. (Engg.) and Ph.D. in 1970 and 1980, respectively, from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi under Ranchi University, Ranchi. He served B.I.T. Mesra, Ranchi from July 1967 to May 1981, Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad from June 1981 to August 1987. He served Regional Engineering College, Silchar, Assam from July 1985 to August 1987.
Renu Singh (Author)
Renu Singh did B.E. from Malviya Regional Engg. College, Jaipur (Rajasthan) in 1992. She served as guest lecturer to many private and government engineering colleges and polytechnics including M.M.M. Engg. College, Gorakhpur and Womens` Polytechnic, Gorakhpur. She is presently working as Product Manager in an instrumentation concern in Mumbai.
