Commencing her illustrious career from the age of ten in AIR she still reigns supreme in the field of carnatic music deep vidwat and dedicated practice were the prime factors of her success. Her guru was her own father Dhamal Krishnaswamy Dikshitar. Later on from Papanasam Sivan. She was awarded the Sangeetha Kalanidhi in 1970. Her another feather in her cap was Palghat Mani Iyer's acceptance to accompany her for her 'Laya Shudam'.
